Suddenly he felt the contraction in his quadriceps and stopped. The cramps gave no respite to a hiker who, this afternoon, was walking along the Selvaggio blu , the nature trail overlooking the coast of Baunei. The pain was so painful that the Areus helicopter had to intervene to rescue him.

Echo Lima 2 took off from the Alghero base and reached the Selvaggio blu, at Tedili, in the stretch between Pedralonga and Capo Montesantu. The hiker, probably underestimating the effort and energy he would have expended along the trail, was no longer able to continue the adventure due to the pain which stopped him as the minutes passed.

By virtue of the impervious place in which the event occurred, the 118 operations center had nothing left to do but alert the helicopter. Arriving on site, the team recovered the tired man. Who, instead of finishing the excursion as he had planned, ended the afternoon at the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro for tests.
