Vernaccia, a typical product of the country, will be celebrated with a Festival. The appointment is for June 15th. The event is organized by the Municipality of Baratili San Pietro to celebrate the tradition, culture and food and wine of the area, with a rich program of activities designed to involve visitors of all ages. “The Festival – states the mayor Alberto Pippia – represents the conclusion of a journey that began over 40 years ago with the first “Vernaccia Festival", revived over time in various formulas. It is a fundamental piece of a project to rediscover the historical link between Baratili and Vernaccia.

Among its main objectives, it proposes the promotion of collaboration between companies, small producers, local authorities and other local entities, be they productive, social, scholastic or university". The Festival will begin on Saturday 15 June at 5.30pm in the premises of the Ex Cantina Madau with a conference entitled "From sa terra to sa Tassa: Vernaccia from the earth to the glass". At 7pm, again in the area of the Ex Cantina Madau, you can attend the inauguration of a mural created by the artist Nicholas Bembo.

The work, destined to become an artistic symbol of the country, will be revealed to the public in a ceremony with the participation of the author. At 7.30pm Via Roma will transform into a lively open-air market, where it will be possible to discover and taste local products. An opportunity to highlight the gastronomic excellence of the area, while the notes of the traveling concert of the Peter's Day Street Band will spread through the air, accompanying visitors along the streets of the town. A special moment will be reserved for the show cooking curated by Chef Alessandra Noi and journalist Giulia Salis, with visitors invited to witness the preparation of dishes that combine tradition and culinary creativity. The first edition of the Vernaccia Festival will continue at 9.30pm with the FantaFolk concert in Piazza dei Balli.
