After outdoor activities he did not want to go back to his cell, so he punched a prison officer in the chest with a violent punch, causing him "difficulty breathing and a brief fainting" .

The umpteenth episode of violence in prisons comes from Nuoro, Badu 'e Carros , the protagonist being a Senegalese prisoner.

This was announced by the Sardinian regional coordinator FpCgil Stefano Atzeni .

«The prisoner - says Giacomo Mascia of the same union - located in the third section of the Municipalities, during his return from the courtyard after outdoor activities, showed resistance in returning to his prison room, wishing to prolong the conversation with the other prisoners of in front of the cells".

After repeated warnings from the officer, "the prisoner continued to resist by punching the policeman in the chest" .

«It should be stressed - adds Mirko Manna of the national FP CGIL - that the Nuoro prison is currently facing a considerable shortage of personnel: sixty policemen are missing compared to the 205 expected, with shortcomings especially between the role of Inspectors and Superintendents as we have been able to verify last week when we visited prisons in Sardinia. Considering the arrival of summer and the forecasts of a particularly demanding period, the immediate dispatch of at least 20 personnel is requested in order to allow for an adequate summer holiday plan for the women and men of the prison police corps".
