The wave of bad weather that hit northern Italy has created serious inconveniences in air connections to Sardinia.

While the island suffers from great thirst, Lombardy and Veneto are dealing with the damage created by the violent rains of the last few hours, with flooding, collapsed bridges and one person missing in Cantù: he is a sixty-six-year-old who was on a small bridge dragged away from the flood of a torrent.

The phenomena were accompanied by violent lightning strikes. A mix that has also complicated air traffic, with chain delays that have also had their effects on connections to the island.

The Ryanair flight expected in Cagliari from Bologna at 10.20pm landed over an hour and twenty minutes late. Similar fate for the one shortly thereafter from Bergamo and for the Easy Jet from Malpensa.

Landings were also postponed by almost an hour for planes arriving from Linate, Palermo and Verona.

This morning the situation seems to have returned to normal.
