This is what occurred in Burgos , Friday evening, when the carabinieri and the 118 operators intervened in a house where, between blood and dirt , the lifeless body of a newborn girl was found, born a few days ago. and with signs of malnutrition.

The mother, 28 , who had given birth to her at home alerted the emergency services. In the house, when the soldiers arrived, her parents and sister were also present.

Now all four are under investigation , after the prosecutor has opened a file and ordered investigations to shed full light on a dramatic story that still has many obscure points .

How did the baby die? Was she fed correctly after birth? Why was medical help not sought at the time of delivery? Why did he wait days before dialing 112?

These are the questions that the investigation conducted by the carabinieri, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor of Nuoro Giorgio Bocciarelli, is trying to answer.

Investigators also tracked down the 28-year-old's boyfriend , who should be the child's father, resident in another municipality, to inform him of the incident.

Meanwhile, on Monday the coroner Alberto Chighine will perform an autopsy on the newborn's body at the Forensic Pathology Institute of Sassari and the results of the examination are expected to provide useful information for the investigation, especially as regards the cause of death.

For all four suspects, at the moment, the crime hypothesis is abandonment of the incapable .
