Mourning for the regional and provincial Avis of Nuoro, which remembers Rina Latu, who passed away in the last few hours following a bad illness, which she had been struggling with for some time.

Latu, who once worked as a teacher, dedicated his life to social work, first as provincial president and regional vice-president of Avis, up to holding the role of national deputy vice-president and president of the Bitti section, his hometown.

The memory of the Nuoro volunteers on the website is moving: «Rina – we read – was an example of strength, determination, passion and love towards others and the great Avis mission. With her, our province and all of Sardinia had a voice at a national level, which allowed her to make herself known to everyone as a great example of volunteering."

And then: «His charisma helped many municipal communities to be founded and many young people to become passionate about the world of Avis. Even with official roles, his role has always been to set an example and help spread the Avis commitment in the area. Generations of donors know her and will carry her in their hearts."

The president also remembered his figure   from Avis Nazionale, Gianpietro Briola: «We are losing an enlightened and passionate woman, attentive and sensitive towards others and bearer of those values that have always distinguished our association. In her, many young people have had the privilege of finding a figure of inspiration and reference to increase their spirit of active citizenship and solidarity towards others. My deepest sympathy and that of the entire Avisina family which, until the end, was also Rina's family, goes to her family. And it will continue to be so even if she is no longer here with us."

On Sunday at 10 am, the funeral in the parish of San Giorgio Martire, in Bitti.
