The moment in which it was closest to Earth has now passed for a few days, on Saturday 12th , but the “autumn comet” (full name C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-Atlas) continues to show itself in the sky above Sardinia , as in the splendid shots of reader Antonello Naseddu.
Its tail is very long: about ten to twenty times the moon, which is why it is visible to the naked eye or with binoculars .
Discovered in early 2023, the comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas will still be visible for a few days, albeit to a lesser extent, because as the days pass it will move further away from Earth. And it will no longer pass through our Solar System, making this event without further repeats.
