A "living monument" in memory of the victims of Covid-19 and the doctors and paramedics who fought against the pandemic to be placed in a niche of the Bastion of Saint Remy in Cagliari.

This is the proposal put forward, through a motion, by the municipal councilors Marcello Polastri and Loredana Lai .

«It is important - explains Polastri - to pass on the memory and remember the toll of human lives that the city of Cagliari had to bear during the period of the COVID 19 pandemic. To look to the future with greater awareness without ever forgetting what happened in this century of scientific discoveries but also of the fight against an evil that makes us think".

For councilor Loredana Lai «this proposal should without delay be able to find the widest approval in the city council since it is aimed at families and citizens who have had to deal with COVID. Moreover, it will allow the effective removal of a withered plant that still suffers from the base of the monumental Bastion , perhaps replacing it with a more suitable flowery installation».
