At the Aou of Cagliari the maximum limit of the seven monthly "ready availability" for each worker is continuously being broken. The consequences are "damage to the psychophysical health of workers, due to the excessive interference of work activities in rest times and in planning a peaceful life".

The complaint comes from the Nursing Up union, which through the regional manager Diego Murracino and the company RLS, Alessandra Loi, sent a complaint to Spresal, the occupational safety office of the ASL.

"The previous contract, now outdated, left the possibility of exceeding the monthly limit in particular cases ," explain the trade unionists. But during the negotiations for the renewal, the parties "acknowledged that the previous rule on ready availability has lent itself to improper use".

For Murracino and Loi , a "correct application of the contract in force is able to support the complete articulation of hospital health services including emergencies, urgencies and the activity of operating blocks", but it is necessary "the application of new systems organizational measures, such as the formation of mixed multidisciplinary teams, the activation of some active night shifts in the needing Units, it is possible to guarantee services to citizens in compliance with the health of workers".
