After the crisis, connections to and from Sardinia increase - on all airports - in view of the Christmas holidays. An additional incoming and one outgoing flight for 11, 21 and 22 December, two more connections for 23 December and three for Christmas Eve, 24, for Ita Airways, on the Cagliari-Milan Linate route. Plus four more in the same days on Olbia and Alghero, connected with the main national airports.

Same thing for Volotea, which again from Cagliari airport has added one more incoming and one outgoing flight per day, destination Rome Fiumicino, for the days of 22, 23 and 24 December, in addition to those already scheduled for 26 , 27, 28, 29 and 30 December.

The time slots enhanced to and from the capital are the central ones, with flights at 12.10, 13, 14.20 and 16.25.

The new, enhanced connection plan was communicated today by the two carriers, which cover the main connections on the island, to the regional Transport Department, led by Sardinian Antonio Moro. A new scoreboard that goes to overcome the emergency that emerged in recent days, with full flights and the impossibility of moving across the island's sky.

«We started from Cagliari» , explains Moro, «because it was the airport in greatest suffering: the regional offices monitor daily what is defined in jargon as the "load factor", i.e. the load factor of the flights».

If the indicator exceeds 91%, the carriers owning the routes are required, according to the clauses of the tender, to insert additional flights. "In recent days, the coefficient for the hottest days of December in the capital's airport had even reached 96%", adds the exponent of the Giunta Solinas, "for this reason we immediately intervened in Cagliari, urging the companies".

Updates also arrived during the day for the Costa Smeralda and the Riviera del Corallo.
