This would be, according to a first estimate, the extent of the booty looted by the commando who attacked a security van on State Road 131 near Giave on Wednesday morning.
The criminals, after having opened fire on the Vigilpol armored vehicle (three injured, two security guards and a girl ) took away several bags of money . And as mentioned, the sum taken away would be huge. And it could have been even greater, if the commando raid hadn't been interrupted by the timely arrival of the Carabinieri.
With the arrival of the military in force , a firefight was triggered , but the gang managed to escape in two cars, possibly stolen, which were then set on fire in the Bolotana area .
The military investigations to track down the criminals continue across the board.
