Four hundred students dressed in white marched this morning in front of the historic Asproni High School on Via Dante, closed for three years for construction work funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). Despite repeated assurances, the work does not appear to be completed.

The long procession circled the perimeter of the school twice, symbolically surrounding the building that students are eagerly awaiting re-occupation. At the forefront were student representatives, principal Antonio Fadda, and numerous teachers, all united in demanding a clear timeline for the school's reopening . At the end of the demonstration, the students headed to the Provincial Office. There, however, a bitter and paradoxical surprise awaited them: the provincial offices responsible for school buildings were closed for the June 2nd long weekend.

This image further fueled the discontent of students, families, and school staff, who have been grappling for years with the inconvenience of moving teaching activities to temporary locations. Provincial Councilor Pierluigi Saiu also participated in the protest. In recent weeks, he, along with his center-right colleagues, had brought the matter to the attention of the Provincial Council through an urgent question. It was during that debate that the critical issues that continue to delay the return of the building emerged.

According to what Lisetta Bidoni, Councilor for School Buildings, reported at the time, the work was completed, but some of the technical documentation required for approval of the tests and systems was still missing. This situation prevented the completion of the administrative process essential for reopening the school. This morning, however, a long-awaited signal arrived. Bidoni herself announced that the missing declarations and documentation from the technicians had finally reached the Province, which would put an end to the long bureaucratic process.
