Today in Arzana there is citizen mourning. At 4.30pm the funeral of Mariano Piras, the 52-year-old electrician who lost his life in Mexico while on a construction site, was celebrated.
The coffin, which returned to Italy yesterday a month after the tragedy (the event happened on September 20 in the town of Tlaxco), arrives in the church of San Giovanni Battista at 2.30 pm. International bureaucracy slowed down the procedures and the coffin, after constant discussions between embassies, was only able to leave Mexico last weekend .
«The entire community of Arzana is shocked by the dramatic death of our fellow citizen Mariano Piras», explained the mayor, Angelo Stochino . Who proclaimed the whole citizen as a sign of condolence for the premature death of the man, thus joining in the pain of all his family members and the community of Arzana.
