Moments of fear this morning on the beach of Tanca Manna (Arzachena) where lifeguards intervened to save a 75-year-old who fell ill while in the water .

From Turin on holiday on the island, he was spending the morning in the tourist village in Northern Sardinia when he suffered severe chest pain. The air ambulance arrived on site and took her to Olbia hospital with acute respiratory failure perhaps due to inhaling sea water. «He was just leaving us – says the lifeguard Luca Sestri –, we did our best».

The prompt intervention of the doctors may have been decisive in saving her life. His health conditions remain serious.
