Artificial intelligence? Kids can still write (and do it very well).

The theme required talent, creativity, and imagination, all to be put down on paper with pen and paper. "Artificial intelligence doesn't generate emotions; you have to create those," the talented teachers said. The students at the Asproni Classical High School in Nuoro demonstrated that they have words in their hearts and souls.
The Satta Institute (thanks to the endless work done at Asproni) hosted the fourteenth edition of the award dedicated to Bachisio Floris, father of Giovanni, a former Asproni student. The jury included Annamaria Pedaccini Floris (president), and the commissioners Daniela Floris, Virginia Mariane, and Giacomo Mameli.
Thirty papers were submitted, including many poems, anti-war works. Many chose Sardinian, their native language, the tongue of the gut. They all won, because they were capable of putting themselves on the line, of making their crystalline voices resonate in the current times. First place went to Viola Santoni Corrias, from 2b. She wrote in her essay: "A book among the rubble is like a vision in the desert." Second place went to Paolo Pisano, 3a; third place went to Greta Vitzisai, 4c; fourth place went to Matilde Mastio, 2a; fifth place went to Francesco Salis, 4a. The students were awarded a scholarship funded by the Banco di Sardegna.
"It's working as an opportunity to seize the opportunities students offer. My father was someone who sought opportunities," said Giovanni Floris. "I think this scholarship is working because it's a collective opportunity to participate in something beautiful." The citation for the first place winner reads: "An effective contrast of emotions and images, in which reality prevails, but doesn't destroy the reality of imagining. Bachisio wasn't blessed, and this isn't meant to be a beatification," said Pergentina Pedaccini Floris. "Bachisio represents his generation, you represent yours. The assignments have become more personal because the professors are always asking themselves whether the task belongs to the student or to artificial intelligence, which is a sort of collective memory. Your mission is to put yourselves to the test."
