The trial for the mayor of Sedilo Salvatore Pes is underway. He has to defend himself against the accusation of slander against the then police commissioner of Oristano, Giusi Stellino, and the vice commissioner, Pino Scrivo.

The episode disputed by the Oristanese prosecutor dates back to July three years ago , in the days of the Ardia : the race, in reality, had not taken place because in the year of the pandemic: the mayor had denounced Stellino and Scrivo for having hindered the religious event , an appointment deeply felt by the faithful of the whole island.

That complaint had been dismissed and the mayor subsequently found himself under investigation for slander .

This morning the trial opened in the courtroom of Oristano : Giusi Stellino and Pino Scrivo are civil parties with the lawyer Mario Gusi, while Pes is defended by the lawyer Cristina Puddu.

Next hearing on October 2 .
