The archaeological research work carried out on Monte Zara in Monastir will be the focus of the conference “Interpreting the ancient: archaeological investigations in the fortified site of Monte Zara - Is Obias between research, protection and future prospects” which will be held this evening at 6:30 pm in the Council Chamber of the Municipality .

«We have been honored to host every year, since 2012, the team of archaeologists from the University of Milan, engaged in archaeological excavations at the Monte Zara-Is Obias site and in the study of the finds discovered there» states Mayor Luisa Murru.

The event, organized by the University of Milan , will feature Prof. Federica Chiesa, Professor of Archaeology of Pre-Roman Italy, supported by Doctors Mattia Maturo and Stefano Ordanini, from the University of Milan, and Dr. Eros Zanotti from Società Magistri.

"This meeting aims to illustrate what discoveries have been made over the years and how important this site can be ," the mayor continued, " it is an opportunity for cultural growth and reflection on the future of the site and the excavations that we cannot miss ."
