In Arborea, polenta has conquered everyone. Yesterday, many people reached the reclaimed town to taste the typical dish of the town imported by the Venetians in the 1920s. Yesterday's was the 41st festival, organized as always by the local Pro Loco led by president Paolo Sanneris. Piazza Maria Ausiliatrice, both for lunch yesterday and for dinner on Saturday, was transformed into an open-air restaurant.
"Waiting in line was worth it," says someone who has just tasted the hot polenta cooked on the spot in copper pots by the Pro Loco chefs. In the historic center of the town, about seven quintals of yellow flour cooked in many varieties were served . But not only that. Many also bought polenta to cook at home, the one grown in the fields of Arborea and used during the festival. A great success, in short.
A great feast of taste despite a few drops of rain. And now we are already thinking about next year. The Pro Loco has announced that it wants to buy a mill, so that the grinding can also be done in Sardinia . And not in Veneto as it happens today.
