Prayers, songs, and an invitation to young people to embrace the thought of Don Bosco. Over a hundred participants, priests, and representatives of the main Salesian communities in Sardinia gathered on Saturday, November 22, in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Oristano for the Jubilee Day of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, promoted by the Sardinian Provincial Federation. The celebration, led by the "Santa Cecilia" Choir of Arborea, was presided over by Father Angelo Manca, Father Silvio Foddis, Father Antonello Cattide, and Father Valerio Casula. At the heart of the event was the desire to transform the charismatic memory into a concrete project: "The Salesian charism calls us to stable commitments, from formation to volunteering, so that the educational capital we have developed can become effective action towards young people and families," emphasized Marco Pinna, president of the Federation. The day continued with a convivial moment, an opportunity to share best practices and outline proposals for the future. "The event highlighted the strength of the network and the need to attract new generations, with specific training programs and social activities in various areas," states President Marco Pinna. Concrete steps that emerged included a three-year youth engagement plan and the mapping of the skills of Alumni and Friends of Don Bosco to be used for shared projects. The impact will be monitored with clear indicators: annual events, hours of service, young people involved, and projects completed. The Federation invites all local organizations and individual Alumni and Friends of Don Bosco to submit at least one concrete proposal to be developed in 2026. "A special thank you," concludes Pinna, "goes to our friends at the Pro Loco of Arborea, who generously and thoughtfully hosted the convivial event, encouraging hospitality and sharing among all participants."
