Former governor of Sardinia Christian Solinas was acquitted by the judges of the second criminal section of the Court of Cagliari from the charge of abuse of office because the act is no longer considered a crime, in the affair linked to the appointment of the general directors Silvia Curto to the presidency and Antonio Pasquale Belloi to Civil Protection.
This morning the panel, presided over by Judge Giovanni Massidda, read the sentence that dropped the charge with which the former President of the Region had been sent to trial together with the former councilor Valeria Satta (also accused of attempted extortion) and Maria Grazia Vivarelli, later acquitted by the Court of Appeal.
The investigation was conducted by the public prosecutor Andrea Vacca, while the former president Solinas is defended by the lawyer Salvatore Casula. Still in the context of the affair linked to the appointments of the two managers, the news has also filtered out that Solinas is still registered in the register of suspects, with a hypothesis of forgery, for having induced - according to the investigators' hypothesis - the Regional Council to propose the two appointments.
