Another day of fire in Sardinia, and we are already trembling for tomorrow in the Cagliari area, where the regional civil protection has raised the fire danger level from medium to high.

18 fires broke out today in the regional territory . Helicopters intervened in Lodè (three) , where the firefighting operations ended shortly after 4pm and dozens of hectares of Mediterranean scrub in the "Sa Ichedda" area, in the countryside of the town, went to ash .

It took a Superpuma to put out the fire that broke out in Oristano in the “Is Pastureddas” area . Three helicopters intervened in the Bottidda countryside , where at 7pm the firefighting operations had not yet concluded. Two aircraft fought the flames in Pabillonis , “Is Ortus” area. Even here at 7pm, firefighting operations are still underway.

And for tomorrow, Saturday 20 July 2024, the fire danger level has been raised in the Cagliari area which, according to the new bulletin issued by the regional Civil Protection, goes from Medium to High. The danger is characterized by the color Orange and, it is explained, «the conditions are such that they can generate a fire with high fire intensity and speed of spread which, if not promptly addressed, can reach such dimensions as to make it difficult to counteract with ordinary forces , even if reinforced, the contribution of the state fleet may be necessary".
