Another day of battle against fires: 18 fires in a few hours on the Island

Friday 27 June 2025 was another day of “battles” against fire for the fire-fighting teams of Sardinia, both from the ground and from the air.
There were 18 fires that broke out in as many locations on the island and in four cases, due to the particularly challenging front, the Forestry Corps, called upon to coordinate emergency management, also requested the intervention of air vehicles.
It happened in the territory of San Giovanni Suergiu , where the flames covered a surface of a few hectares of agricultural land, and in Muravera , in the Iba Cresia area, where approximately 2 hectares of uncultivated pasture and some eucalyptus windbreak strips went up in smoke.
Helicopters also in action in Riola Sardo and Quartucciu , in the Riu de is Cungiaus area.
The extinguishing and remediation operations of the perimeter of the fire that broke out yesterday in the Municipality of Siligo also continued, where ground teams operated with manual means and a regional aircraft from the Anela base.
