Third request, within a month, for a maritime state property concession for the construction of a (another) wind farm off the northeastern coast of the island. After the one advanced by Tibula Energia for 65 turbines in front of Tavolara and Molara, and the one sent by Zefiro Vento srl, which planned 210 kilometers from the coasts of the Costa Smeralda, yesterday it was deposited in the Olbia Harbor Master's Office, the application of Nurax Wind Power srl , a company based in Milan.

The numbers

Also sent to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the application for the granting of the concession, lasting thirty years, for an area of over two million and five hundred square meters, is aimed at the installation of 33 floating wind turbines , 280 meters high, in the stretch of water at 35 kilometers away from the coast that goes from Capo Ferro to the island of Caprera and with a landing point on the ground of the connecting cable duct in the seaside resort of Pittulongu.

A project with a scope of more than one billion and five hundred million euros (even if the economic plan only speaks of two million for "environmental compensation") which, in the intentions of Nurax Wind Power, should guarantee an annual production of sustainable energy up to 1660 Gwh , contributing to the achievement of energy independence of the entire country.

Environment at risk

According to the documents produced by Nurax Wind Power, the project, for the part on the ground, would not be in contrast with the objectives and strategies of the municipal urban plan of Olbia and even with the regional landscape plan. An evaluation that will now have to be carefully examined by the Port Authority and other bodies. In any case, there is time until July 28 to submit observations, while the deadline for opposing Tibula Energia's request expires today.

Certainly, among the observations there will be those, for all the projects, that the deputy Mara Lapia will deposit today in Olbia "for noise pollution, submarine, alteration of the landscape, with damage to fishing activities ".
