Trampled rights. For six hours, maybe eight, the perception of time that expanded beyond measure. Fear and deprivation, in Egypt, for Andrea Usala , one of the two Italian Pro Pal activists blocked and held at the airport in Cairo , where he had landed to participate in a demonstration for Gaza .
Usala, a 25-year-old from Cagliari and a student at the Holden school in Turin, was later released : "We lived through moments of fear and despair but now I'm fine. And we sent an important signal ," he says.
Hours of anxiety for the family too. "After they arrived in Cairo, my son and his group were locked in a room at the airport and their documents were confiscated. As a family, we immediately took action to consult the consul and I believe his intervention resolved the situation," explained Andrea's father, Antioco.
Then, after the great concern, the confirmation of the release and the sigh of relief .
