Christian Mulas, president of the Council's Environment and Urban Hygiene Commission, took a tough stance in Alghero following an inspection of the Lido coastline the day after Easter Monday.

"The images and reports from residents have revealed an unsightly and unacceptable scene," he states, "with beaches marred by waste, widespread filth, and the presence of bodily fluids that compromise the decorum, hygiene, and livability of a common good ."

To address the situation, a joint commission has been urgently convened for next week, in agreement with the municipal administration and the municipal police commander, with the aim of identifying concrete and coordinated solutions to public order and urban hygiene.

"The numerous reports require immediate reflection, especially as the summer season approaches," Mulas continues, urging everyone to be more responsible: from businesses to residents and clubbers. "Alghero deserves respect. Events and gatherings are welcome, but only if they respect the rules and respect civility. Patience is running out: in the event of incivility, more restrictive measures and more stringent controls will be implemented."
