State Police officers from Sassari and Alghero were keeping an eye on him, suspicious of his frequent trips to Sardinia, where he only stayed for short periods.

When he was spotted again in a taxi in Alghero, he was stopped and searched. The result: he was found in possession of almost 1.2 kilos of cocaine.

The drug was divided into eighty ovules, half hidden inside an empty milk carton and half inside a first aid kit.

At that point the subject was taken to the offices of the Alghero Police Station for more in-depth checks.

The eggs, analyzed by the local Forensic Police, were found to be cocaine, weighing a total of 1,170 grams . The man was therefore arrested for illegal possession of narcotics.

This morning, the validation hearing was held at the Sassari Court, following which the judge ordered the arrested man to be held in prison .
