The announcement for the recruitment of the local police of Alghero has caused a brawl to break out in the City Council . The changes made to the regulation do not please the council group of the Brothers of Italy who are asking for greater clarity. The executive has in fact approved a resolution that introduces more stringent requirements, including physical ones , "without any real technical motivation", complain in a note the coordinator Pino Cardi, the group leader Alessandro Cocco and Alessio Auriemma of Brothers of Italy Alghero. " A change - they explain - that is in fact a copy and paste from the Municipality of Sassari and that excludes a large part of the possible candidates , also affecting those who have already trained".

Among the new criteria is also the possession of a category A driving licence .

The 5 Star Movement Alghero responds. "We always appreciate the attention with which the opposition follows the administrative activity, but it would be useful if, before launching unfounded accusations, the representatives of Fratelli d'Italia at least made the effort to study how a Municipality works. Anyone with a minimum of administrative knowledge knows perfectly well that the competition notices are managerial acts and not political acts of the Council ."

The requirements are common standards for local police competitions throughout Italy, explain the Five Star Movement, so no discriminatory intent, but, on the contrary, " awareness of the need to provide the Municipality of Alghero with a local police force that is up to date and aligned with the ordinary performances now widely expected and present in the Municipalities ". As for the request for a category A license, "it seems to us a request that is not only reasonable but almost essential, as the Command is already equipped with 4 motorcycles and, following a recent acquisition, the fleet will be expanded to 8 motorcycles in total".
