A 16-year-old boy from Alghero was brutally attacked on Monday afternoon by a stranger who stopped him in the Sant'Agostino neighborhood to ask for money. The student, with books in his hand, was on his way to a maths tutoring class and was crossing Piazza Largo Costantino.
He replied that he didn't have a single penny and continued on his way. But he was hit by a powerful kick to the back and then by a flurry of punches . The sixteen-year-old defended himself as best he could, then ran away and called for help. The evening ended in the Emergency Room of the Civil Hospital, for bruises spread all over his body and face. This morning he filed a complaint with the police station, accompanied by his parents.
An episode that has shaken the entire community. The residents of the Sant'Agostino district, in particular, are calling for more controls by the police in those little squares, between the council houses, where the presence of drug dealers and addicts has been recorded, ready to do anything to secure a dose.
