A terrible tragedy struck in the middle of the night on the road leading to the sea, near Piazzetta Simius, at the intersection of Via Matteotti and Via Le Palme. Alessandro Zizzaro, 19, lost his life.

He was travelling on his scooter, perhaps returning home, when the accident occurred involving a car carrying three young men from Villasimius : the vehicle crushed him against a rock.

The 19-year-old died instantly; the occupants of the car were taken to the hospital for observation. They suffered multiple injuries. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

The alarm was raised immediately, with the arrival of ambulances and Carabinieri officers from the station, who conducted the required investigations. The investigation is still ongoing. The boy's body was transferred to the morgue in the town cemetery and released to his family.

The town is experiencing widespread mourning. Mayor Luca Dessì immediately canceled tomorrow's Tombola event, a Christmas event eagerly awaited by families .

"It should have been a day of celebration," the mayor said. "A tragedy that deeply affects everyone. We are all close to Alessandro's family."
