All Sardinian students returned to school this morning. 170,000 students are ready to begin the new school year on the island , about 5,000 fewer than in 2024.

And to all of them came wishes for a happy new year from the President of the Region Alessandra Todde.

"A new school year has begun," the governor wrote in a long post on social media, "made up of books, lessons, but above all , meetings, curiosity, and growth ."

"To you students, who are the present and future of our country," he continued, "I hope you experience these months with enthusiasm and confidence . My thoughts also go to those who accompany this journey every day, at the desks and in the corridors: administrators, teachers, and school staff."

Then the promise: "As I did last year," Todde emphasized, "I will also dedicate time to meetings in schools in the coming months , because listening to your voices is the best way to build the future together. A good start to everyone."
