Weekend of checks by the local police in Sassari to curb the phenomenon of the sale of alcohol and spirits to minors. Plainclothes agents sanctioned and denounced the owner of a bar in the city center who served wine to two minors, one of whom was under sixteen.

Dozens were checks carried out on various activities including clubs, bars, shops and supermarkets throughout the municipal area, finding only one violation.

For the administration of alcohol to minors, the national legislation provides for a fine ranging from 250 to one thousand euros. In the event of recidivism, a penalty ranging from 500 to 2 thousand euros is applied, with suspension of the activity for three months.

The ban applies to minors under the age of 18, over sixteen, while the administration of alcohol to minors under the age of 16 is criminally sanctioned by article 689.
