New controversies over the project to merge the Sardinian airports . After the governor Alessandra Todde expressed the Region's interest in participating (with a minimum share of 5%) in the holding with F2i and the Cagliari Chamber of Commerce, the debate moved to the Council. Where the budget change that sets aside 30 million euros for the operation is currently under discussion. The opposition attacks and speaks of a rather mysterious and hidden paragraph which allocates 30 million euros, without indicating what it is . In words, the majority says it concerns a review of the airport system. What we ask is that the intentions be put in black and white, in official documents", says Fausto Piga , deputy group leader of Fratelli d'Italia.
Budget councilor Giuseppe Meloni replies: «It is still a possible operation, we are ready and have foreseen a sort of provision of 30 million , the result of an evaluation made on a first estimate of the value of the Sardinian airports and is part of a possible participation by the Region". An operation that is still possible because, explains executive member Todde, " it is necessary to take into account everything that is in place, including the pronouncements of the judicial authorities and what the public administration foresees with respect to these interventions by public bodies" .
The reference is to the two open trials on the issue. In Cagliari, in front of the business court, the proceedings opened (decision expected for January 2025) by the Region during the last council session to block the merger of the Olbia and Alghero airports are underway. The Sardinia TAR will instead be called to decide on the appeal presented by Confcommercio Sud Sardegna on the privatization of Sogaer.
This is why there are those who argue that we should wait and there is no urgency to allocate 30 million: « We contest the timing - underlines Umberto Ticca, group leader of the Reformers -. At a time when the budget change must mainly respond to the emergency in Sardinia, we believe that allocating both the money for the acquisition and the money for the feasibility study of an operation like this is a contradiction."
