Aggius, big fire threatens a wind farm
The Canadair requested does not take off from Ciampino, the firefighters are at work with their helicopterah102aa_58384.mp4
A large fire broke out late this morning in the countryside between Aggius and Bortigiadas, in Gallura.
The flames have affected a wind farm, threatening some blades, and are devastating the Mediterranean scrub, in an area difficult to reach by land.
For this reason, during the first phases of the emergency , the intervention of a Canadair was requested, which should have taken off from Ciampino. But the firefighting plane remained on the ground. Thus, to support the Tempio fire brigade teams, the Drago helicopter from the Alghero flight department intervened from the sky.
In the late afternoon the extinguishing operations were not yet completed. The wind, which has strengthened as the hours have passed, doesn't help.
