«Possible valve failure».

A meeting with ENAC is scheduled for the next few days, which should produce a detailed technical report on what happened yesterday on the Aeroitalia Cagliari-Milan flight. In the meantime, the National Civil Aviation Authority has released a first note: «In relation to the event linked to the alleged lack of pressurization, due to the possible failure of a valve, which occurred on an Aeroitalia Boeing 737-800 during the Cagliari-Milan flight yesterday, June 10, the crew, after having applied the expected operating procedure (emergency procedure), decided to continue the flight by landing, requesting priority, at Linate airport. The flight and landing took place without any problems».

The Authority also announced that it has activated "its own team of experts who are evaluating the event together with the operator's technicians. At the moment the aircraft involved is stopped at Milan Linate where the necessary checks are being carried out to understand the technical and operational dynamics of the incident".

The Region has asked ENAC to carry out checks, with the opposition asking for clarifications and inviting the majority to check the condition of the vehicles before proceeding with the extension of the service already announced by Transport Councillor Barbara Manca.

Moments of terror, until the landing operations which concluded regularly shortly before 9:30 PM.

A "precautionary maneuver" following the report of a "possible pressurization problem," Aeroitalia said in the morning, issuing a statement. "In accordance with the procedures in place, the oxygen mask release system in the cabin was automatically activated," the company said. "The maneuver was conducted in full compliance with safety protocols, without any emergency situation occurring. No alarm was raised and the safety of passengers and crew was never compromised.
