Accident on the New 554: motorist pulled out of the wreckage, two injured in red code

Serious road accident in the tunnel on the Nuova 554, at the junction with the Nuova Orientale Sarda (125 Var) : two cars collided inside the "Bruncu Martineddu" tunnel in the Quartu area .

The impact between a small car and a pick up was extremely violent : the pick up overturned in the center of the tunnel, the other car crashed into the wall of the same and a person got stuck between the plates . Both injured drivers, taken to the hospital in red code, the air ambulance also intervened to transport one of the two . Passing motorists raised the alarm: immediate intervention by the 118 ambulances, the fire brigade and the Polstrada.

The dynamics of the collision are yet to be ascertained.

The state road, reports Anas, has been reopened to traffic in the direction of Cagliari after a closure that lasted a couple of hours to make the roadway safe again.
