Abandoned construction waste and various waste in Arzachena: investigations underway

There are numerous reclamation interventions carried out by the contractor company, in the ecological islands of the countryside and coastal areas of Arzachena, following daily episodes of waste abandonment; This is a very negative phenomenon, which intensifies during the tourist season but from which Arzachena is not exempt even in the shoulder and winter seasons.

"The failure to respect the delivery calendar, the incorrect differentiation of materials and the phenomenon of illegal rentals - commented the Municipality - are the main causes of the inefficiencies encountered".

Added to this is the phenomenon, which the environmental unit of the local police and the municipality's environmental inspectors are encountering, "of a notable abandonment of waste from construction companies both in roadside ecological islands and in public and private areas".

"Construction waste, bulky items not belonging to the category of domestic waste, packaging, etc." were identified and recovered, the Municipality writes. «The abandonment of rubble and other waste is a serious and widespread problem that causes serious environmental and public health consequences. It is also prosecuted by law as a criminal offence. Investigations to trace those responsible are underway."
