The last of the recipients of the precautionary custody order in prison from Operation Golden Mole, which last July dismantled a criminal group that was planning to attack the vault or an armored van responsible for transporting over 30 kilograms of gold from the Portovesme srl production plant in San Gavino Monreale to another vault located in Arezzo, has turned himself in at the Police Headquarters in Cagliari.

The man, originally from Fonni, had disappeared during the execution of the precautionary measure. He is currently in a cell in Uta prison.

He and the other ten arrested on July 25th face three charges: attempted robbery, a new crime under Article 628-bis of the Italian Criminal Code, which covers assaults on armored vehicles. They also face charges of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and receiving stolen goods (including multiple vehicles).
