Carabinieri officers conducted a night of checks on Sardinia's roads , engaged in a large-scale prevention operation ordered by the Cagliari Provincial Command. The operation involved several towns in the south of the island and resulted in one arrest, three charges, and several seizures.
In Iglesias, officers from the Villamassargia Station, with the support of the Operations and Mobile Unit, arrested a 26-year-old homeless man , already known to law enforcement, for resisting arrest and refusing to provide his personal details . The man, stopped for a check in Piazza Sella, allegedly reacted violently, attempting to bite a Carabiniere , before being restrained and taken to the barracks . After the usual formalities, he was held in holding cells, awaiting a summary trial scheduled for this morning.
In Monastir, the Carabinieri of Donori and the Dolianova Mobile Radio Unit reported a 22-year-old driver caught driving under the influence. During a search of the vehicle , they found small quantities of hashish and cocaine , intended for personal use. The young man was reported to the Prefect, the substance was seized, and the vehicle was placed under administrative seizure, with the immediate revocation of his license.
In Monserrato, officers from the local station reported a 23-year-old man in possession of approximately 7 grams of marijuana. The drugs were also seized and sent for routine analysis. Finally, in Serramanna, a 16-year-old was reported for carrying offensive objects: during a check in the town center, Carabinieri found him in possession of two switchblades, one 17 and the other 15 centimeters long.
