Countdown to the return of " A Maimone " to Samugheo . And for the twenty-sixth edition of the event dedicated to the ancient masks of the traditional carnival, capable of attracting thousands of people, there is a special guest : the Olympic champion of the 4x100m relay at the Tokyo Games, Lorenzo Patta , will in fact be the guest star of the event organized by the cultural association Mamutzones de Samugheo.

«I was born and raised in Oristano , but inextricably linked to Samugheo , the town of my parents - explains Lorenzo Patta -. I am happy to tell the emotions of the best days of my sporting life in front of many of my fans. In Japan I felt the warmth and drive of this community and all this affection played a big part in my growth as an athlete and in our victory. In the past I have been to "A Maimone" as a spectator, it is a beautiful event that offers something new every year . I am truly honored to be part of it».

In recent editions, it has become synonymous with great sports champions.

After Daniele Conti, historic captain of Cagliari, and the Sardinian national football team, the ancient carnival of Samugheo is preparing to welcome Lorenzo Patta on Sunday 5 February. He will be the protagonist of " My Tokyo, Olympic emotions with Lorenzo Patta ", one of the collateral events which, as per tradition, characterize the Samughe review.

In the meeting moderated by Sergio Loi and the journalist Valentina Caruso, at 11.30, in the MURATS conference room, the Olympic champion will talk about his sporting parable and the emotions of his triumph in Japan. Together with the athlete of the Fiamme Gialle there will also be the Olympic medal, conquered in the Rising Sun together with teammates Marcell Jacobs, Filippo Tortu and Fausto Desalu.

The program of A Maimone 2023 will be opened at 10.30 by the conference on masks curated by Simone Pisano, followed at 11.30 by the appointment with Patta.

In the afternoon, however, the classic review of masks is scheduled, starting at 4 pm, followed by dancing with Massimo Pitzalis. Participation in the event is totally free for spectators.
