A foretaste of summer is upon us on the island , with temperatures well above seasonal averages . The week looks set to begin with a stable atmosphere thanks to the protection of high pressure.

The weather pattern is set to change starting Wednesday afternoon, with the formation of slight daytime variability in inland areas , with the possibility of brief passing showers. A gradual and slight drop in temperatures is also expected. This is caused by the approach of a treacherous, unstable front descending from Northern Europe , which will begin to chip away at the anticyclone shield but should have limited impact on the island.

However, the situation should improve in view of April 25th, Liberation Day : high pressure is expected to once again take center stage over the Mediterranean basin. This new and strong anticyclone expansion will sweep away the clouds , providing ample sunny spells and a return to mild weather from north to south.
