He got lost at Capo Ferrato, where he had gone on a fishing trip . While walking along a trail , he got lost in the woods, unable to go forward or back. He raised the alarm himself by calling 112, which was immediately followed by the Carabinieri, the San Vito firefighters, and volunteers from the Civil Protection Association Crov, based in Villasimius. It was the volunteers who, after several hours of searching, found the tourist, who appeared tired and dehydrated.

The air ambulance also arrived on site and rescued the man: he is now fine.

The tourist had left Costa Rei early in the morning with his fishing rod, heading to Capo Ferrato to fish. There, he became trapped in the thick brush, unable to return. The emergency services were called to 112, prompting rescue efforts.
