The Cagliari Fire Department was deployed on several vegetation fires, including the most significant in the countryside between Monastir and Villasor, where a farm was affected by flames. Helicopters and Canadairs operated from above, supporting the regional firefighting teams.

Some rural homes in Villaspeciosa, southern Sardinia, affected by smoke from the nearby fire, were evacuated as a precaution, Mayor Gianluca Melis said. "The fire now appears to be contained," he added.
