A fiery afternoon in Sardinia: a large blaze erupts between Elmas and Cagliari, with firefighters in action.

A large-scale fire broke out between Elmas and Cagliari. The blaze broke out along the 131Dir (incinerator road) and, since 5:30 PM, has involved the Fire Department with two teams, two fire engines, and a Forestry helicopter.

It is estimated that between 8 and 10 hectares of scrubland went up in flames.

At the same time, between Sestu and San Sperate, near the Sp4 (near Eva Arredamenti), another brush fire spread across approximately 5 hectares and involved 1 team of firefighters and 2 fire engines.

Other interventions for smaller fires between Villamar and Monastir, but also a larger one in Assemini and another between Guspini and Villacidro.

Dozens of emergency calls were received by the firefighters at the Viale Marconi barracks, who have been sending teams to put out the blazes since early afternoon.
