Possession and trafficking of narcotic substances. Ketamine, in particular, whose diffusion is becoming worrying. This is the accusation that last night brought to prison a thirty-nine-year-old from Olbia and a thirty-year-old from Maracalagonis, stopped by the Carabinieri in Monastir.

The first was driving a car, the second was in the passenger seat. Their nervousness triggered a search of the vehicle: under the back seat a bottle containing a colorless liquid was found which, thanks to subsequent analysis by the Cagliari RIS, was identified as liquid ketamine, enough to generate approximately 369 average doses.

The determination of the military led to a further search of the houses, where further quantities of narcotics were discovered: over 30 grams of ketamine crystals, 1.39 grams of pink cocaine, 50 MDMA pills and 5 grams of hashish. In addition, materials for the packaging and synthesis of synthetic substances were seized, along with a sum of 415 euros, believed to be the proceeds of illegal activities.

This seizure is part of a series of similar operations conducted by the Carabinieri in the province:

• September 2023: in Assemini, the military seized 5.5 kg of ketamine, the largest seizure of this substance ever in Sardinia, arresting two individuals believed to be the “custodians” of the drug.

• September 2024 : at the Cagliari train station, a young man was arrested in possession of ketamine with an estimated value of 25,000 euros, hidden in his clothes and dissolved in alcohol.

• September 2024: In Cagliari, a 28-year-old was arrested for possession and dealing of “pink cocaine,” a dangerous synthetic drug composed of a mix of ketamine and ecstasy. During the operation, the Carabinieri seized approximately 35 grams of “pink cocaine” and 80 grams of MDMA, as well as packaging material and a sum of money believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity.
