500 Alghero children without a pediatrician, opposition to the ASL: "We need an immediate extension"

Since May 2, Alghero children no longer have a pediatrician. The center-left councilors denounced it in the City Council, pointing out that the temporary assignment of children aged 0 to 6 to the two paediatricians of free choice who had assumed, with an equal division, the patients being treated by a pediatrician who had pension.

«It is incredible that an extension by the ASL was not evaluated in time», write the Per Alghero, PD, Futuro Comune and Sinistra in Comune groups, «although the publication of the ranking that assigns, following public announcement, a new pediatrician also for Alghero, the technical times may not be very short», warn the mayor's political opponents. Thus it happens that 500 children and their families are unable to have a pediatrician for certification, treatment and assistance.

"The ASL is active for an immediate and automatic extension of the service assigned by way of derogation to the pediatricians currently in service - the councilors ask - thus ensuring, until the arrival of the new pediatrician, regularity and effective right to health services for all children without solution of continuity".
