2,000 of them left from Piazza Garibaldi, but 10,000 of them arrived to the tune of "Bella Ciao" in Piazza del Carmine to celebrate April 25th, the symbolic day of liberation in Italy from Nazi-fascism.

Young people, children, adults, elderly people demonstrated in the main streets of the city waving the flags of the Anpi, of peace and of the Quattro Mori, of the CGIL. Pro-Palestine activists could not be missing, but also many associations, including those that fight every day against the wind attack in Sardinia. And then the association “Non una di meno”.

On the stage in Piazza del Carmine we talk about work, freedom and rights. Among others in the square, peace flag in hand, also Sonia Aquilotti, 88 years old, a partisan at 7 years old with the name Lilla, who arrived in Sardinia in 1946.

The German and fascist occupation in Italy did not end in a single day, but April 25th is the symbolic date because in 1945 it coincided with the beginning of the retreat by the Nazi and fascist soldiers of the Republic of Salò, from Turin and Milan , after the population had rebelled and the partisans had organized a plan to regain control of the cities.
