There are 160 of them, practically all under the age of 30, and they come from all over the world to exchange ideas, get to know Sardinia and implement innovative project proposals. They are the delegates of the twenty-fifth edition of the International Summer Week, born in 1998 on the idea of the Sardinian association TDM 2000. An event which, over the years, has become one of the main youth cooperative tourism events and which takes place in Cagliari every year in first half of August, with this edition dedicated to the theme of social entrepreneurship.

The activities began yesterday evening and will continue until next Thursday, with 24 associations and organizations operating in the sectors of social entrepreneurship, the promotion of active citizenship and non-formal education.

The activity. This morning, at Sa Manifattura, the opening ceremony was held, in the presence of the delegates but also of some volunteers participating in the project and dedicated speakers including the Head of the Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service Department, Michele Sciscioli. «Cagliari is at the center of the Mediterranean and is an inclusive city, which leads us to have greater enrichment than the others: as a new political ruling class our face must be turned towards peace and the future», the message to the delegates from by Marco Benucci, president of the City Council. "There are many opportunities today for young people, even with the Government and the European Union: however, they often don't know each other, we need to make sure that they know about these activities to ensure that they obtain benefits for entering the job market", he added Gabriele Frongia, president of the TDM 2000 association.
