100 marijuana plants seized in Selargius: an arrest
The inspection by the Financial Police of a rural buildingAround 100 marijuana plants were seized by the Financial Police of the Provincial Command of Cagliari in the Selargius countryside. One person was arrested during the operation.
The financiers identified a rural building from which strong fumes attributable to hemp were coming. There was also a complex forced ventilation system.
Given the absence of an authorized agricultural activity, the control was in-depth. The Fiamme Gialle surprised a man, who later turned out to have a police record on drugs, who was growing the plants. The latter were registered as indica hemp with a THC value (active ingredient of marijuana) equal to 4%, i.e. 6 times higher than the limit that would be allowed by the legislation for the cultivation of so-called "light hemp".
From the seized quantity of substance (partly already dried and processed) it is assumed that it would have been possible to obtain inflorescences and leaves, ready for retail sale, corresponding to more than 40,000 doses with a commercial value of over 400,000 euros.
In addition to the seizure of the inflorescences, the man was also arrested.
