Rescuers have identified the bodies of two of the three young people missing since Friday in the waters of the Natisone river, in Premariacco, in the province of Udine . They were found by Civil Protection volunteers, engaged in the search together with firefighters and law enforcement.
These are the two girls, Patrizia Cormos, 20 years old, resident in Balsadella di Campoformido (Udine) and Bianca Doros, 23 years old.
The bodies were traced 700 meters away from the riverbed where the two young women had stopped together with Cristian Molnar , a 25-year-old resident in Austria and engaged to Bianca Doros, before being overwhelmed by the flood, triggered by bad weather, just as the firefighters were trying to save them.
In the photos and videos released, the three are seen embracing, perhaps to protect themselves from the fury of the water, before giving in and being dragged by the impetuous current.
A passerby had heard the desperate screams of the boys and raised the alarm to the firefighters. The firefighters, a few dozen meters above the ground, had placed a mobile crane and extended a ladder, also throwing ropes to the three young people so that they could hold on. But right before their eyes the current had carried them away.
