The list of victims at work continues to grow. Among the latest cases that of a 41-year-old who died in Rome. He was erecting the scaffolding on a building near St. Peter's when he slipped and fell from a height of eight meters. The rescue of colleagues was immediately triggered and a doctor who was passing in that area also intervened and tried to revive the worker. Everything was in vain.

The prosecutor opened a file for manslaughter and the scaffolding was seized.

Meanwhile, the trade unions underline, accidents on construction sites "have registered a sharp surge: from the beginning of the year to early October, one victim has been registered every 48 hours. In construction sites people die as 50 years ago". The victim, they add, had "a contract different from that of construction. This is not new. In construction sites, both public and private, there is now everything: not only long chains of subcontracts, but also the application of contracts different, in a real race to the maximum downside 'disguised' ".
